How to stain rodent platelets with Mitotracker Deep Red?

I have been trying to stain platelets with mitotracker but there is no proper staining. Can someone please help?

Protocol followed:

1. Addition of 1.2ul Mitotracker in 10ml Opti-MEM solution to platelets

2. 15 mins incubation

3. Removal of stain followed by PBS wash

4. Methanol fixation for 20mins at -20°

5. Imaging
