Monitoring of single-lap bolted joints:

In this COMSOL simulation,

  • In solid mechanics, bolt pretension, boundary load (Tensile load), and fixed constraints (only at the top of the bolt) are specified.
  • In electrostatics, trying to apply voltage in the actuator placed at the top plate of a single lap joint.
  • Actuator voltage input signal is (vo/2*(1-cos(2*pi*fo*t/no))*sin(2*pi*fo*t)),vo = 50 v (Applied voltage), fo = 100kHZ (frequency), t = 0.001 s (time), no = 5 (Number of peaks) (these values are already specified in the parameters option) given in the top surface of the actuator as terminal node. The bottom surface of the PZT actuator is grounded. Regarding the actuator boundary conditions, the electric circuit is used as an external I-terminal to apply voltage.

The boundary condition for the PZT sensor placed at the other plate of the single lap joint is the top surface of the sensor as a terminal node. The bottom surface of the PZT sensor is grounded.

Regarding the sensor boundary conditions, the electric circuit is used as an external I-terminal to receive voltage signal.

The time-dependent study is used to plot voltage vs time for output.

This type of error is coming. How to rectify this?
