I think the problem is in your namelist and in setting up the 'e-vert' parameter as the error indicates. What you should do is to make the number of vertical level the same for each domain.

Yeah You are right. I have set e-vert same for all domain but Its same error.

Many of your input data are inconsistent, for example in time control you have given 3 days and 60 hours. What you mean by this...?. Are you want it to run it for 5 days and 12 hours...... It is better to run the model in steps of 3 days or lesser period, for reliable results. Please look into the WRF manual before running the model.

The total duration is 60 hours means 2 days and 12 hours. and It was an miss tack I have modified it but still I am getting some error. Below I have attached the 'namelist.input' and error. Please have look into it and do some necessary comment.

solved ! I was compiled WRF&WPS with damper and thus the result would just showed in rsl.out.0000.

Today I recompiled WRF&WPS with serial and its results showd in terminal.

Pravin Bhasme, please check out the physical schemes of the namelist.input. How all the physical schemes could be -1. Just go through into the manuals of WRF physical schemes, Below I have pasted.

The total duration of the simulation was 24hr or 1day. But in &time control section you have mentioned day - 1 and hr - 24 that means (1day + 24hrs = 2days) 2days. If your total simualtion duration is 24 hrs then Just put day - 1 and in hr and min sections put 0 only. So there is a temporal inconsistency I have noticed.

after $ ./real.exe

use $ tail rsl.error.0000

it will show the source of errors.

In &time_control section you can simulate the model by ....

run_days = 3,

run_hours = 0,

run_minutes = 0,

run_seconds = 0,

Its will be better if you select frames_per_outfile = 1. like

frames_per_outfile = 1,

In Physical Scheme section: there are no mp, cu, ra_lw, ra_sw etc. scheme which assigned as -1. So, cearfully work on the &physics section.

I am facing the same type of problem while running ./real.exe (only showing: starting wrf task 0 of 1). It doesn't give me anything like SUCCESS COMPLETE REAL_EM INIT.

Below I have attached the screenshot of my terminal & the namelist.wps , namelist.input file. It will be a great help if anyone can have a look & guide me about how to do it right.

I tried with tail rsl.error.0000 to find out the problem in ./real.exe run & found that it says "SUCCESS COMPLETE REAL_EM INIT". I thought maybe ./real.exe was correctly done & so run ./wrf.exe. But it shows like:

I encountered the same problem and I am quite sure that is not related to my namelist.wps or namelist.input.

My error message is the same: "ERROR in psfc: flag_psfc = 1, flag_soilhgt = 1, flag_slp = 0, sfcp_to_sfcp = F"

I also used the GFS FNL data.

When the problem first showed up with a specific configuration, I recompiled everything on the same machine and then it worked again. Now, I am facing this problem on another machine. The configuration was always the same. I assume it depends on the system or on the WRF installation.

I also tried "ulimit -s unlimited", but it did not change anything.

Please let me know, if you have any ideas.

With WPS V4.1, the default Sea-level pressure (PMSL) was changed to MSLET. However, this field is only available for GFS files beginning 10 May 2011 and for GDAS files beginning 14 January 2015. For older files, the Vtable has to be changed according to the description in Vtable.GFS.

In my case, real.exe crashed whenever I used either a newer version of WPS or old GFS files.

Can you please share your namelist.input file? It seems you don't have enough data or have compilation error.

First, fix the grid size to match both the met_em (from WPS) files and those prescribed in the namelist.input.

You have random memory issues. I would assign more core and more memory in order to handle the rather big nested domains.
