Hello everyone,
I've made a model in Abaqus which is 2 parts of tibia bone, callus and external fixator. I've used tet mesh and global size 2 for all parts; but I want to user a finer mesh for callus part. When I change the size from 2 to 1 the job is aborted and give me this type of error:
"The volume of 1 elements is zero, small, or negative. Check coordinates or node numbering, or modify the mesh seed. In the case of a tetrahedron this error may indicated that all nodes are located very nearly in a plane. The elements have been identified in element set ErrElemVolSmallNegZero."
Please help me!
Do exactly what the program suggests: OPen the model in the postprocessor to find the incorrect element. Alternatively, the verify mesh option may help. After doing that, modify your model accordingly (shift some nodes by hand/partition differently etc.)

Yes, even with this error, an odb should be created by Abaqus (with no steps in it except for initial). Open that, look for the created set, use this to localize where you have to improve your mesh.

No I couldn't shift any node or remove the failed element.
