I am trying to model a photovoltaic device using AMPS-1D software. But once I am submitting it to the queue, it remains there for an infinite amount of time without giving the result.
I couldn't understand what is the problem. Kindly please help me out.

I would propose that you study and reproduce some solution examples to get acquainted with the range of the physical and technological parameters of the device. You have to study well how the program gets the solution and how meshing is accomplished in the program.
I think you have yourself get out what is went wring with you!

It might be due to poor polynomial fitting of the layer's refractive index. Usually the refractive index is fit using polynomial fitting of order 6. Sometimes, you will need higher order to fit both extinction coefficient (k) and refractive index (n) over the required wavelength range since they are connected by the Kramers-Kronig relationship.
My suggestion is to visualize (or print the RMS error) of both k and n and check if there is a unrealistic curve-fit near wavelength 200 nm. Try different polynomial order to reduce the absolute RMS error between the curves and re-simulate. Also, mesh high inside the active layer and at its interface. Hope it helps.
