We model structures with state-space formulation using ODE functions in MATLAB.

Check out this paper where it utilizes Bouc-Wen model to model the hysteretic behavior of a nonlinear system. You can find also the nonlinear state-space representation of such system.

Linear and nonlinear response of building structures is commonly solved in time or frecuency domain. For instance, using SAP2000 to model a MDOF structure, you will be able to introduce plastic hinges, dampers and isolators, aplying several nonlinear and/or plastic behaviour, depending on the case.

Please let me know the way you will use to model the structure, then it will be easier to advice you more accurately.

However, I using semi-active control devices along with control algorithms which can't be used in SAP2000 or ETABS, this is the main motivation about my request of a state space model that can be solved/programmed in MATLAB or any other coding language.

I have been working on this for several years with outcomes on health monitoring and adaptive control of hysteresis systems. You can find my work by using the Bouc-Wen model, which can be efficiently simulated by Simulink.

Dear Mahdi, although you are using control systems that can not be done directly in SAP2000. However, you can use VBA interfaces to do the same in SAP2000. Same things can be done by matlab.
