How to set up the analysis for live/dead cells on facs?

I have isolated spleen cells and i want to check if i have live or dead cells. I have stained them with live dead aqua from invitrogen. I am using BD DIVA for facs. Which diagrams should i draw in the worksheet. For instances should i set up forward verses side scatter then gate on the cells and look for histogram counts or is it done in a different way ?
