Hi,

I am doing forward wave simulation in 3D space. One of the problems is that since the Poisson's ratio is close to 0.5, the compression wave speed is much faster than that of the shear wave. This seems to make the problem very stiff and unstable. Is there a way to decouple the shear and compression wave? I looked at the operator splitting technique used in nonlinear simulation, is it applicable here? Thanks!
