I am planning to collect blood through cheek bleeding method and collect up to 200 ul per mouse (in heparin-coated tubes).

I want to find a way to separate plasma (to be stored frozen for ELISA and cholesterol assay later) and the circulating cells (to ACK-remove RBC and run gene expression on rest of the cells).

Most of protocols I found aim to collect only the plasma and spins at >1000 x g for at least 15 min. This speed may be too high for preserving the cells I want. I'm wondering if I can use centrifuge to separate plasma without damaging the circulating cells.

If so, what spinning condition would you recommend?

Thank you!
