I have used regular multi-purpose epoxy to attach nanoports to PMMA chips with good results (e.i., no leakage at reasonable pressures). I believe the Loctite 1 Min Mix is also compatible with glass. Others in my lab have used a commercial uv-curable acrylate adhesive (can't recall the name at the moment, but I am pretty sure they found it in a hardware store) for bonding to glass, also with good results.

I think you can also use PMMA itself or just some cheap nail polish to seal them. I try it before and seems like work reasonably well.

Another option you could try is double-sided adhesive, or even a pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA). With PSA, you can laminate/bond your device together using a heat press.

Could also try using acetone if all else fails.

Thanks for all the info. Actually, I cant use a heat press in my case. I need something that can be sealed manually. I tried nailpolish but that doesnt stick well to PMMA, tough it sticks well to glass. I would basically need a sealant that would hold on tightly to both coverglass and PMMA surface.

Epoxy(Long-term setting expoxy is better than the 3-mins fast setting epoxy ) is good but can't bond permanatly.You will have to re-bond them after a period of time. It depend on the temperature change and the reagent you used in the experiment.

Well, let me describe the microfuidic device. My device has a chamber where water is flowing in continuously. All I want to do is seal the chamber tightly enough so that water does not overflow and leak from the top surface, and easily flow out through the outlet channel.

How big is your water chamber? If big enough just use plug from stockroom and use glue to bond. Or do not need to seal it,just give pressure to balance it.Water level is important.

I agree with Max that you should try to use a PSA layer. You can find several types that can be easily used to bond your parts, you only need a manual roller to laminate them.

My chambers are 4 mm in dia and 2mm in height. I cant keep them open because of some biological reasons. Also, the sealing has to be done with something that is highly transparent since I have to image the chambers at the end.

Can you use Sealing Films(PCR Film)?It is widely used in the 96 well plate to avoid the water evaporation.

Try (brand name) Fevikwik. It is a quick drying strong glue. Hope you will get it in your local markets. It served my purpose when i fabricated 3D circular microchannels in PDMS. The seal was able to take pressures upto 1.5 bar.
