Hi All,

I want to compare my Monte Carlo simulaiton results to available anlytical solution. My target is light intensity at the top surface.

I use Farrell's relationship to describe light intensity as a function of radius from the light source.

When run MC simulations using the same optical properties as the analytical solution for a simple semi-infinite homogeneous medium results are not matched.

In MC I have the number of photons through which I can play with power. But analytical solution doesn't represent any term for power, I think it would be the ratio of output to input intensity.

Anyway, what do I need to do for this comparison? I am using a mesh based MC package (TIM-OS).

What physical quantity is represented by MC simulation? Photon fluence, energy fluence, number of photons per area?? How can I scale based on power? I am using a point light source.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
