Hello, I am trying to run a source code for simulation packages (ex. 'qstem' -> Electron Microscopy Simulation). I want to run these packages in a cluster. I also want inspect and modify the source codes for my research purposes. I am not sure how to run these pacakges, especially because they are dependent on external libraries like FFTW and Boost. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In order to run a source code you have to have the right and efficient compiler. This very necessary for convert the source code into object code.
The compiler makes difference in the success of the compilation process.
Then you have to have the suitable linker to convert the .obj file to an executable file. Then executable files files .exe files are the files that can run on the computers.
This is my humble experience in this respect. Hope it helps
