Hi, If I need to request information from an organization, for instance, in my case I need to request a "school policies handbook" from different private schools. What is the norm, 1- Shall I simply write an email to request the information? 2- Do I need to have any sort of letter from my university that should state that I am a student and the information that I am requesting will not be misused? Yes, a letter eith contact information to your teacher and supervisor, something rather general about the reason you ask/ the purpose of your project, what the information is going to be used for, who eill use it and how it will be kept and possibly if you intend to make information source un-identifiable or not. Make clear that this is voluntary, but that you appreciate their cooperation in the study.
