Hi everyone, we have used FOSS monochromatic spectrometer NIR system 6500 to collect spectra of some samples. The files it generates are in .nir format and using these files we can easily generate models in the Foss Calibrator software. But I need more flexibility in my analysis and I want to convert these .nir files to .mat files so that I can use PLS toolbox for classification and prediction purposes. Any help will be much appreciated. Thank you.
My optical spectroscopy software http://Spectragryph.com will read your FOSS files and is able to export them into a number formats, including ASCII csv files. These should be easy to load into Matlab. On the way, you could also consider using Spectragryph for the whole preprocessing work, like baseline subtraction, smoothing, averaging, and also SNV, MSC and Detrending. All processing steps, including loading and exporting can be included into a user-defined sequence for automated processing. Extremely time-saving and less nerve-wrecking.
The good news: it is free for academic use. (Not a "free trial", but free.)
