I am applying confirmatory factor analysis with multi - latent variables having a large number of observed variables. And I want to reduce the number of observed variables by removing less performing variables to improve the model. How can I do it, please?

it is typical question but the less performing variables should not be removed as it also can indicate the changes expected at a particular point of time.
