I want to find the amount of pyridine in water after passing through a membrane. We usually deal with concentrated pyridine solutions and it would require a large amount of water for diluting the concentrated pyridine solution to take it to the ppm level to analyze through UV-spectrometry.what about refractometer?

Using UPLC-UV with an RP column and injecting the sample directly should make the analysis pretty straightforward. You can expect LOQs around 50-100 ug/L if the analytical system performs well. Of course, you have to be aware of the water matrix. Depending on what is in your sample, some pre-treatment or an alternative method might be required.
