Turkevich method produces gold nanoparticle by reduction of gold salt using citrate. The resulting nanoparticles are typically negatively charged due to citrate ions. How do we produce gold nanoparticles with no charge using the same Turkevich method?

The negatively charged citrate molecules are necessary to stabilize the AuNP electrostatically from aggregation, because metal nanoparticles tend to aggregate to reduce their surface energy. Therefore, it is not desireable to synthesize uncharged nanoparticles, they would aggregate immediately due to the lack of stabilization.

But for my further experiments, we require uncharged gold nanoparticles. I was wondering whether we could achieve that during the synthesis itself.
I agree with dear Corinna Kaulen absolutely.
If you synthesize the naked gold nanoparticles, they would lose their stability in solution and they will be aggregated immediately.
