I am carrying out a liquefaction reaction inside a 2.5mL volume reactor made of Swagelok fittings (one SS 3/4" STRAIGHT UNION with two SS 3/4" PLUGS FOR FITTING). After adding the substrate (lignin) and a solvent (ethanol), I tightly close the reactor and immerse it in a fluidized sand bath at 300°C. However, most of the time, the solvent comes out of the reactor, as evident from the smell of ethanol. The volume is low (
