One way to address the problem is to use Thread seal tape (also known as PTFE tape, Teflon tape, or plumber's tape).
Typically, it's wrapped around the threads of fittings before tightening. It's cheap and can be found in any hardware or DIY store.

I don´t see any o´ring in this picture, have you tried sealing with an o´ring? I do not know what kind of material you should use, but they are designed to seal.
