Dear Charan Kuchi, many researches have been devoted to study gas sensors using amidine functional group. So, I suggest to surface functionalize these nanofibers with this chemical group. By the way, which gas(es) you are targetting ? My Regards
The device of such a sensor will consist of an anode and a cathode between which a nanowires, nanocolumns or nanostubes of oxides will be located. Depending on what kind of oxide it is, various characteristics are measured - resistance, current-voltage characteristic, capacitance, impedance et al. For example, niobium oxide nanowires are good semiconductors, while tantalum or tungsten oxide columns are good insulators.
