You need to give more detailed information about the system you are investigating: about the electrodes, about the electrolyte, about the equipment and electrochemical technique used, etc.
I believe that you need to read first a background about the electrochemical techniques commonly used to evaluate corrosion rate (e.g. potentiodynamic polarization using a three-electrode system: working electrode, counter electrode and reference electrode). For instance, I would suggest:
1.- The chapter on "Electrochemical Methods" by Professor Robert Cottis, in Shreir's Corrosion book. If you don't have this book in your library you can request a copy of the book chapter from professor Cottis Researchgate profile: Robert_Cottis
2.- the book: "Electrochemical Techninques in Corrosion Science" by Robert G. Kelly, John R. Scully, David W. Shoesmith and Rudolph G. Buchheit.
If you don't have this book in your library, you can get it easily: Professor Shoesmith has made available a public copy of this book in his Researchgate profile: David_Shoesmith
