To perform a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) to identify a plant idenntity, first you need to identify a suitable DNA marker, for example 18s rDNA etc. then you need to design a suitable primer, find a suitable DNA extraction method. After all preparation has completed, you can start your PCR and send the product for DNA sequencing for example, to further verify and confirm a plant identity.
