How to perform principal component analysis to analyse survey data. I gave numerical value to each answer and added them in excel sheet. What would be the next step? I am going to use minitab for the analysis.
Principal component analysis (PCA) involves the use of eigenvalues of the covariance matrix or the correlation matrix. Arranged in order of magnitude the first principal component corresponds with the biggest eigenvalue, the second principal component with the second biggest eigenvalue, etc. Each eigenvalue is a measure of the relative variance of the principal component. This continues till enough cumulative proportion is obtained. Then before interpretation the principal components are correlated with the original values.
@Gayani Instead of going for PCA, I suggest you to go for Exploratory Factor Analysis as PCA doesn't allow the factor to correlate with each other. You can refer to youtube tuitorial on the link below.
