I am working on the pyrolysis of sewage sludge in a fluidized bed reactor. I want to perform carbon balance for it. I tried doing it by calculating the carbon content in sewage sludge (Fixed carbon and free carbon), sludge char (Carbon content from CHNS analyzer), pyrolysis oil (Carbon content from CHNS analyzer) and gas yields (CO, CO2 and CH4 yields). But my results are not any near to equal. The difference is huge. I feel this might be due to losses. Also I am not including the condensate in my balance, since i don't know the carbon absorbed by condensates. I tried reading literature but could not find any particular one. I would appreciate any guidance.

Thanks in Advance.

Best regards.
