I am using an electrospinning machine to produce carbon nano fibers. My objective is to measure the impedance of carbon nano fibers, which are going to be used for super capacitors. I want to conduct EIS by using solatron 1260. How should I attach reference electrodes to carbon nano fiber memberanes
I am not sure about your objective and setup.
Are you planning to measure EIS of single fibers or of a "mat" of fibers?
What kind of electrodes do you plan to use?
Do you plan to perform your experiment under ambient conditions or do you want to use some kind of electrolyte or special gas conditions?
In general: You can try to attach single (or a bunch of) fibers to your electrodes by conductive metal paste or get a "mat" of fibers between two planar electrodes a apply a soft pressure (be careful to not press your electrodes into contact).

Thank for your reply. I am using "mat" of fibers. and i am using planner electrodes and eis will be perform at ambient temp i.e room temperature.
I have performed EIS of solid oxide fuel cells, so i know we attach references, counter and working electrodes with cathode and anode of fuel cells. But here its just a mat of fibers. Therefore i am confused about how to attach refference, counter and working electrodes to my mat of fibers? and how should i measure the surface area of mat of fiber? (manualy using measuring scale?)
Do you really need all three electrodes? There are ways to use the Solartron with just two of them (I have done this most of the time).
Unfortunately I am not an expert to measure the fiber's surface area.
I haven't used Solatron with just two can you explain it to me or refer to any academic material from where i can read n build on it?

I had a short look into my notes, and - sorry - I was wrong I have used the Si1260 in combination with the SI1296 with just two electrodes. In this combination this is very easy. If there are possibilities for the SI1260 alone you should have a look into the manual, there should it be described.
