Hi every body, currently i'm working in a diabetes project, we are culturing human MSc in diabetic S.D rats, and i have to measure both human and rat serum insulin.. but, i am facing a problem with the cross reactivity between human and rat insulin in the rat insulin Elisa kit..could anyone recommend me a rat insulin ELISA kit that doesn't interfere with human insulin? thanks in advance
to the best of my knowledge, there is generally none cross-reactivity between rat (mice) insulin elisa assays with human insulin. i.e., if you measure rodent insulin using human insulin elisa kits you get zero. but: down-load the manual from the producers web-site, at the end they usually list the table on interspecies cross-reactivity - thus, checking for this information you know in advance which kit to purchase.
