Hello every one, I wanted to investigate the behavior of a steel beam exposed to fire (thermal load). The objective is to track the mid-spam deformation and maximum stresses of a simply supported steel beam that exposed to 20 min heat transfer to beam (heat diagram increase from 22 centigrade in time 0 to 790 centigrade in time 20 min). I used Ansys workbench17.2 and used coupling of transient thermal and transient structural. My questions are as follow: 1- Is mentioned coupling the right way? 2- what material should I use for beam? When I use steel structure Non-linear with long deformation I got an error message. seems like that Ansys is npt able to model non-linear 3- I could not see any effect duo to thermal load on mid-spam deformation. It just cause longitudinal expansion, but nothing changed on the vertical direction.

thanks
