Hello,
I am currently trying to model a 2D wire Abaqus model as a beam to study linear snap buckling. I am using eigenvalue buckling concept and was able to get the 1st eigenmode value and multiplied with the unit compression force. I copied the model and now applying the force greater than critical load but lower than yield strength. I am not able to see buckling at all when I am using same BC and a displacement at the center to see the snap through behavior. Do I need to use Static, Riks instead of Static, General ?

Hi Abhishek,
Try to apply a very small transverse force at the center to disturb initially straight form.

This behavior can be tracked by activating the arc-length option
