Hello fellas,
I need to model a thin plate that its upper edge is subjected to the distributed loading in Abaqus. I uploaded my model. I opt the 2D plane stress and also 3D model but the answer I obtained for shear and normal stress are far from the theoretical solutions. Could someone please help me to correctly model this problem?

If you modeled the problem correctly in terms of geometry, loading and boundary condition, it depends on various factors including mesh size and type of mesh. by applying different mesh sizes, check your results.

As Behnam said, check element size dependency. Also examine stress components in the 3D model to find that plane stress assumption is true or not.

For every element type there are some assumptions and limitations. Just try to read about solid and beam element regarding shear stress. Try this one
