A lot depends on the research design that you used to connect the two methods. For example, if you used a sequential explanatory design (QUANT --> qual), you would begin with the main quantitative results and then continue with the additional information from the qualitative study.

Alternatively, if you did not use an design that automatically integrated the results, then another approach is to have two separate Results sections. Each of those sections would be specific to the method that it was covering, but by itself this would produce a low level of integration between the two method. Hence, it would desirable to use the Discussion section to talk about the relationship between the two sets of results.

I suggest you having a look at Heigham & Croker's (Eds.) (2009) Qualitative Research in Applied Linguistics. Even though the instances in the book are about applied linguistics, the authors illustrate the mixed method designs (explanatory, exploratory mixed method designs and so on) with very comprehensible charts and frameworks and they are relevant to other social sciences as well. Based on the frameworks, you can understand in which order you can present your data. However, it is my understanding that you should present your data in results part no matter they are qualitative or quantitative, or whether your research design is mixed or not. The data (qualitative or quantitative) are your data, so your results after all. Then in the discussion part, you may discuss them both.

I have seen few papers that used both qualitative and quantitative method in a single study.

In fact, I have used qualitative methods (expect interview followed by inductive content analysis) at the initial part of the report. Afterward, insight from the qualitative was used to modify scales of few constructs for using those scales in subsequent quantitative study (confirmatory factor analysis).

Mix of qualitative and quantitative methods can be influenced your research objective and research design.

I am not sure why you are having trouble finding a paper that used both qualitative and quantitative data. According to both the Web of Science and Google Scholar, there are thousands of papers published every year that use "mixed methods."

You could also look at the Journal of Mixed Methods Research, although most of the empirical work in that journal is chosen because it is relatively innovative.

These are ALL different. The first two sequential methods are essentially two separate data collection situations, with different collection, where you analyze one, than potentially realize you may need additional data/info and use the quant or the qual, basically whichever you used first in order to assist the other in making an additional survey (ex Quant) or additional interview (ex Qual) and compare to the original method in order to glean additional data.

Basically two separate collections to inform first or second. This equals more monies, more time, more resources, etc., which most of us do not have generally.

Concurrent means you collect both qual and quant at the same time and usually analyze together and/or separately, which can work for or against you because all methods have their benefits and disadvantages, especially with cross-sectional data that was collected during that one point in time.

This is also very perplexing to me because of your high research gate factor at over 17? I've been teaching research methods geared to public health grad and undergrad students since 2013. This is like early methods, in my opinion.

Qualitative findings are still findings about a category of data. So present it in your Findings section.

Qualitative and quantitative data are separate categories of data collection, so you describe both in the Methodology section. In most cases, the quantitative data is presented first, followed by the quantitative findings.

In my Eds thesis I used seperate subsections within my results chapter. You cannot discuss results without having presented them. This is why the discussion sections follows on from the results section.
