Dear all,
I have sample of clinoptilolite (zeolite powder) with size around 200 - 300 μm and need to measure zeta potential of it using ZETAPROBE ANALYZER.
Could anyone suggest how to measure it? Do I need to use heat stirrer to float my sample?

As you probably already have learned and are just asking to re-confirm with other colloid scientists and potential instrument owners, the vendor that sells that instrument does not list it in the specification sheet for being capable above ~ 30 microns diameter.

You should probably contact the vendor by phone/email/text and ask them your questions. They know their tool and it is in their best interests to have you publish interesting and accurate information with their product.

Hi Muhammad Y., I don´t know if you can use the ZetaProbe for this measurement, but in our laboratory for samples with size of particle major to 0.25 microns we use an Anton Paar instrument, the SurPASS Electrokinetic Analyzer. Perhaps you find this information useful.

Thank you for you answers. Yes what I understand about this machine is it can't be used for measuring such big particles above 30 μm.
However, I'm curious if anybody can customize the method, and then share it here. I think it's better rather than crush or grind and then sieve.

I have a similar problem and the particles I want to analyse (Leca, seashells,ecc) have a bigger size (1-2 mm). Have you received any positive feedback about crushing/grinding?
The analysis will be performed with a zetasizer nano Z (Malvern), which has a particle size range of 0.0038µm to 100µm. No answer from the vendor, yet.

Finally I have customized the zeta probe, I used double vertical spinner to help my material floated. And it works even tough the deviation is quite big which is around 8-9%. However still acceptable in my case.
My material still contain small particle with portion less than 30% from total size.
