I want to do quantification of some biomolecules viz, cellulose, callose, lignin etc., at different stages of rice anthers (6 anthers per flower) where the weight of anthers also differs at each stage. I want to determine anthers weight at first but because of the very tiny size of anthers I cannot estimate the anthers weight at any stage precisely. I suppose that weight is in micrograms but our lab don't have a device that measures weight in micrograms. I appreciate any suggestions in this regard.
You can describe the size instead weight by scan the anthers or photo via camera then use software to analysis your photo tall color Wight ic. You can use imagej software

Just to clear my doubt, is it okay to consider size instead of weight while determining something quantitatively? Because at the end of my experiment I thought of expressing the biomolecules quantified as 'X' units/ ug anther. I am not sure if I can express the biomolecules quantified as 'X' units/ mm size of anther, in a quantitative measurement.
Yes biomolecules you need to get weight frist by using very sensitive balance . But my suggestion that only if want to compare between many cultivars or during growth stage.
