I found several Articles - mostly in the topic of brewring and beer stability - mentioning a % Value of Catechin adsorption to PVPP.
I browsed several artivles now - and could not find anyone specifying how this is done - which method is used to get this %-Value.
Do you know which method can be used to get the Catachin adsorption in %? Or maybe link to a paper/article or something else that describes how this is done?
I just had a solution with A mg/mL catechin and B mg/mL PVPP. After mixing the solutions for whatever time interval (30 min for me), let the PVPP settle out of solution. You could also spin down a sample to separate PVPP faster.
Measure the amount of catechin remaining in the supernatant using HPLC, get an answer like C mg/mL
Percent remaining is C / A. Percent absorption is ( A - C ) / A
