You question is quiet in general. Manage an environment in which manner? In terms of Physical layer, multiple user accessibility (MAC layer), routing layer, transport layer or application. To understand the complexity of current network is very difficult. Researchers says that internet is going to be more complex than human body neural network. This will history creation as first time human made system is more complex then god made system. Within few years, numbers of internet connections will be double than total human population of the earth. Now also we use internet in smart phone and PC simultaneously. IOT will make it more complex.
