I've N2 gas cylinder and 100 ppm NH3 gas cylinder. With these two cylinders, I'd like to make a ppb level (1- 100) concentration. Any idea how to do that?
If you have a cylinder with 100 ppm NH3 and a one cylinder N2 and you want to get a more diluted NH3 then you have mix every liter of the 100 ppm NH3 by the X liters of N2 such that
the required dilution d = one liter of 100 ppm/ one liter of 100 ppm +X Liter of N2,
d( 1+X)= 1
1+ X=1/d
X= (1-d)/d
for 100 ppm d=1
x=0 no dilution required
For 50 ppm
d = 50/100 =1/2
X= 0.5/0.5= 1 liter of N2
one liter of 100ppm mixed with liter N2 and so on.
