Hello,
I am spin coating thin films of PEDOT:PSS (Ossila, PH1000, ~50nm thick) on Si wafers and would like to make this thin films fluorescent. I have tried to dissolve fluorescent dyes in the PEDOT:PSS solution prior spin coating (e.g. fluorescein, rhodamine B) but could not get any fluorescence from the resulting thin films. It seems that the PEDOT:PSS is quenching the fluorophore. Additionally, I need entire PEDOT:PSS thin film to be fluorescent and not only the surface. Therefore, any functionalization steps seem compromised.
Any suggestions?

I value the suggestion of XUHUA. There is one question. What is the energy gap of the die?. I think the energy gap of the die must be smaller than that of the PEDOT.PSS otherwise the emitted light can be absorbed by the PEDOT.PSS.

Why not to make two layers of PEDOT:PSS layer and on top of it with a light emitting polymer thin film?
You could try this approach to spin coat thin PEDOT:PSS layer. Then spin-coat a fluorescent light emitting polymer thin film.

There are many light emitting polymers around. You may try different one. Merck can provide very good quality ones such as blue, green and red colours. Hope it helps.
