How to transfer the publications from ORCID/ReasearchID to Scopus?

Not all journals that are indexed in Scopus are also indexed in web of science. Since Scopus to ORCID is possible and ORCID to Scopus is not possible, the only way to do that is by using manual addition for those that are not seen automatically.

It is possible that the journals have not been able to keep the high standards and were then disconnected from the latest list of Scopus. In other cases, some journals couldn't offer the Scopus' fees.

As indicated by Nidhal Kamel Taha El-Omari it is possible to minimize the chance that a journal is able to mislead you by checking the latest published list by Scopus which can be find here https://www.scopus.com/home.uri scroll down and download “Scopus source list”. However, Scopus is somewhat ‘lax’ in updating their databases, especially Scopus source: https://www.scopus.com/sources.uri?zone=TopNavBar&origin=searchbasic There are some tips:

-When you search a title on Scopus sources go to the “Scopus content coverage”. When a journal shows a suspicious sudden increase in number of published papers this is often followed by a discontinuation

-Check the title on SCImago, when there is something going on there are (most of the times) already comments (which you can find by scrolling down) with disturbing messages like “I published this and this paper in February of this year and it is still not indexed in Scopus” or “I have been told that Scopus is investigating this journal at the moment” etc.

-Check the Beall’s list (https://beallslist.net/ ). If for example the publisher is mentioned here it might be a good thing to check the ‘history’ of their indexed journals. It is not unusual that their titles are indexed and 1-3 years later are discontinued. This might have some predictive value for the title that is added to the Scopus title list in terms of how long this indexing will last

As indicated by Subhi R. M. Zeebaree there is (if possible) an even more disturbing phenomenon “hijacked journals”, these journals are ‘polluting’ the Scopus index. Unfortunately, SCImago is not entirely save since they use the homepage info of Scopus and Scopus is having a hard time dealing with hijacked versions of a legit journal. Yes, sometimes that happens, because as far as I know, the data is calculated in the mid of each year...So it may be present when we search for it and after the update, it is canceled from the classification... For me, I search for the journal in Scopus preview and search for it within the sources after entering either the name or its ISSN, and I also search for the publishing house because the laws of our country, even if it is within Scopus and the publishing house is on a Bill list or even other predatory links does not adopt... My sincere gratitude to all.

Journal behavior get change and scopus do not update its current indexing immediatly. So I recommend people to find good journals at https://abcdindex.com site just type ISSN number of journal and it shows current indexing with people reviews.

ABCD Index has categorize good set of journals in four category A is best and D is below average. As per research paper publication and reviewer list I recommend scholars to always check international journal validity from abcd portal.

A little correction/nuance in both of your replies. The statement that the list is evaluated once a year refers to the JCR report of Clarivate (this one is released every year somewhere in June, see enclosed file). Scopus update their list of Scopus titles 3-4 times a year and their list of discontinued titles are updated even more frequently (see enclosed file). The suggested ABCD list is a good one but hardly updated and focussed on economy/business related journals, see https://abdc.edu.au/research/abdc-journal-quality-list/.

The mentioned list and scopus portal has many loops: such as https://www.scopus.com/sourceid/21100936125 this journal is famous for publication but scopus is not mentioning its correct site. As I drop email and all. Drwaback of this kind irresponsible work is young scholar publish on wrong site.

Your example https://www.scopus.com/sourceid/21100936125 is a journal with ISSN 2666-2795 and refers to https://romanpub.com/ijaer.php which looks like a hijacked version of https://www.ripublication.com/ijaer.htm (this journal is discontinued as well https://www.scopus.com/sourceid/21100217234).

Indeed, your example https://www.scopus.com/sourceid/21100944103 is a sad example of predatory behaviour where they exploit their Scopus indexing ‘for as long as they can’. I tried to indicate how to deal with this in my August 23rd reply as well.

Checking Scopus indexing requires a double check to exclude you're dealing with a hijacked version (which is relevant for those journals that have a genuine Scopus indexing but are also the victim of being hijacked).

Review of International Geographical Education Online https://www.scopus.com/sourceid/21100855502 if you look at 2021 via Scopus content coverage you see why they are discontinued in the meantime: a staggering increase of published papers (more than a 1000 instead of the ‘normal’ 30 papers a year)

In other words, they use journals with issues and lure potential victims who are under the impression that they can publish in a (safe) Scopus indexed journal. Not even mentioning the construction that you can submit your paper ‘through’ them, I see no normal procedure in this (and suspect that they charge you for this at some point).

So, in conclusion I would say stay away from this one. Use the "Scopus source list" you can find here: https://www.scopus.com/home.uri scroll down for the latest list. For those interested I included the latest list with titles, discontinued titles etc. (see enclosed file).

Something is indeed wrong when it comes to the journal “Journal of Namibian Studies”. I think that the journal is either hijacked or taken over by a let’s say, ‘different management’. The red flags are:

-The original publisher “Otjivanda Presse” (Germany) had a historically explainable relationship with the journal, while when you Google the new ‘publisher’ nothing can be found and does not make sense (Hong Kong) and use nothing but a Gmail address

-According to https://www.welwitschia.eu/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/JNS_June2011_119to124.pdf the website used to be www.namibian-studies.com and now it is https://namibian-studies.com/

-Compare https://commonwealth.sas.ac.uk/sites/default/files/uploads/Melber_JNS_32_November2022_165to172.pdf with a yearlong editorial board that now has been replaced (?) or is at least different https://namibian-studies.com/index.php/JNS/about/editorialTeam

-The notorious questionable ores.su website mentions the journal https://ores.su/en/journals/journal-of-namibian-studies/ throughout the years I found numerous cases where this website mentions a journal and that there were issues (hijacked, poor management, peer review, possibilities to manipulate the peer review etc.)

-The comments on SCImago not only mention the discontinuation but also mention the increase in accepted manuscripts (totally unrelated to the (original) scope of the journal

-According to the latest Scopus source list (see enclosed file), the Scopus coverage stops with volume 33, 2023

So, the journal is discontinued. Not sure what happened with the original journal and publisher. According to https://namibian-studies.com/index.php/JNS/announcement/view/1 they are the new owners, but I doubt whether this is trustful info. Unfortunately, the online presence of the original one was/is basically absent so hard to check.
