For me, it worked with the following steps (Abaqus2017 on Ubuntu 16.04):

export DSY_Force_OS=linux_a64

export DSYAuthOS_`lsb_release --short --id |sed 's/ //g'`=1

sudo apt-get install lsb-core

sudo apt-get install libjpeg62

Then call the installation script.

To open CAE, use

export LANG=en_US.utf8;export LANGUAGE=en_US;export LC_ALL=en_US.utf8; XLIB_SKIP_ARGB_VISUALS=1 abaqus cae

Install NVIDIA driver first for compatibility. CentOS is partially supported Linux distribution for Abaqus installation. Steps for CentOS7 and Abaqus2016.

1) yum -y install openmotif ##32 and 64 bit version both

2) yum -y install ksh

3) yum -y install compat-libstdc++-33 ##32 and 64 bit version both

4) yum -y install ncurses-libs ##32 and 64 bit version both

5) ln -s /lib64/libtinfo.so.5 /lib64/libtermcap.so.2

6) ln -s /lib/libtinfo.so.5 /lib/libtermcap.so.2

7) Copy Abaqus2016 installation. Own the directory with chmod 777 -R

8) Install Abaqus2016 documentation

9) Install Solvers and then CAE

When I install Abaqus 6.14-5, it does not accept the license and give me an error message. What is the reason for that?
