Thanks Iryna. I agree with you. This has been very difficult for researchers who are in Brazil with serious cuts in resources for science. Unfortunate and very sad.

Yes, we do it a lot becauseI have this privilege of having a career already consolidated, but the young researchers who are starting now in the country, they are in a very difficult situation.So, I always suggest in my lectures to them that tools like ResearchGate and ORCID are essential for researcher career consolidation, especially for the possibility of new partnerships and and to build joint projects in technical-scientific collaboration. Thanks again for share with us your opinion.

I agree with you. The basic factor is always that you do a good quality research. But the whole thing with publishing in last years became very complicated, sometimes close to impossible, especially in journals with a high impact factor. I come from a country with very poor resources for scientific work due to very turbulent situation over last 20 years. So we never had resources to pay for publishing in some of highly rated journals, because we never had the funds for that, which our colleagues living in other countries had. We were merely paid for our scientific work, I spent years volunteering. I can say that I always worked hard but when someone compare my score with someone of the same age and experience I am not concurrent at all, because I could not be in the same league. Also, if you are lucky to have a collaboration with someone from your field who already have a name, things are less hard. To cut things short, you simply have to have some luck. Writing reviews and even better books is something we should do more, but I expect that sometime soon everything become open access, because those who are publishers are exploiting scientists work to the bits.
