Grade of calcium stearate we are using, has a melt point of 180 C. We tried heating mineral oil to that temp and when calcium stearate was added to it gradually under constant agitation, it immediately gelled.
Any help/direction is highly appreciated.

Alright, answering my own question after some trials, and research, for people, following this thread, gelled calcium sulfonate can be incorporated at 80-90 C or raw Cal Sul can be melted at its melting temp by heating the oil to that temp prior to adding it but the there's a risk of oxidizing the oil with the latter option.
