I created a sketch on Solidworks and when I go to Abaqus and use the "Import>Sketch" option, ABAQUS shows that my file may be corrupt or not be valid. I went to the "Entity List" before trying to import the IGS file, and I discovered that my file has "Color Definition" and "Associativity Instance" enabled. These are shown as Unsupported by Abaqus, and I guess that this may be the cause of error. Someone knows how can I disable these options in SW?

According to the SolidWorks help: http://help.solidworks.com/2017/english/SolidWorks/sldworks/c_IGES_Files_igs_iges.htm?id=faa513b8ebdf42dfaaec189884590a14#Pg0&ProductType=&ProductName=, I think that you will not be able to control these two entities ( "Color Definition" and "Associativity Instance" ) in SolidWorks' IGES export translator.
May be you should try to change/adjust some of other IGES's export options in SolidWorks IGES Options dialog (by the exclusion method) and try to reinsert your model in Abacus.

Hi,
Exporting a sketch as IGS and reading it in Abaqus is not very efficient. My understanding is that you want to import a 2D model from Solidworks to Abaqus. Try to create a surface from the sketch in Solidworks (e.g. with Planar surface), and then save that surface as IGS. In Abaqus go to "import part", choose 2D planar from "part attributes" tab (picture attached).

I was testing some simple models using the surface module in SW and importing using the "import part" option instead of "import sketch" and worked fine!
I'm going to make some adjustments in my SW model, since is parameterized with MS Excel.

Hello everyone,
Just for record, what I've done is saving my model as an ACIS (.sat) file. I discovered that SW saves in the most recent version, so, I saved the file using a old version (in my case, Version 2.0 of ACIS) worked. Then, I used the same process: Import > Sketch and Abaqus made it!
