I am working with vero cell lines. I am subculturing them to maintain my cell line for my dengue virus infection. But I suspect that there is some contamination as small dots on and some elongated filament like structure on the surface of culture flask. I am just confused because I see my cell perfectly alright under the microscope but the increasing resolution of microscope I see some suspected structure but not my cells at that resolution.
So my question is that vero cells and contamination like fungi appears at the different resolution?
Most convenient way is to establish your own morphological marker by simple microscopy with reference cell line. It will also help in its maintenance. Otherwise you may opt for PCR analysis or can go for authentication testing.
