I did an orthogonal cutting simulation with a rigid tool and an AA7075 workpiece... my van M.-stress during the cutting process is about 8e8 Pa so 800 MPa, wich seems normal for my parameters. But my reaction forces RF1 and RF2 at the reference point are quite high.

The max RF1 is like 150 000 N (0.15e6) (I'm using SI units kg, m, ..)

In my understanding the reaction force RF1 at the reference point in orthogional cutting should be the cutting force which should be more like F_c_max = 1000 N.

I thought maybe the mass scaling could have been a problem but when changing the parameter here the forces don't really change.

Does anybody have any suggestion? Do I look at it the wrong way? Which parameters could have influence?
