I have to run 500 odd simulations and I am only interested in few of the outputs at certain critical location. I am changing input files to model these models but now I have to run every simulation and then generate outputs in form of .rpt for each simulation in ABAQUS's GUI.
I would also interested to know if there is a way to read multiple .inp file one by one by writing a script.
Dear Kumar, you can generate a script using macro manager ( actually it will generate a code in python while you create your model then you can put in a ,,for'' loop to modify the models as you want and automatically create other models based on the first one but with the variations that you want).

as Chira already indicated you can do that quite straightforwardly. First, you should set up your initial model. All the commands you enter in the GUI are written into the *.rpy file. You can copy them in a *.py.In this*.py file you can introduce variables and change the parameters you you want to study.
In a second step you can read the *.py file into Matlab, change the parameters and write the new, adjusted *.py file.
With Matlab you can then also call ABAQUS and run your parametric studies.
For the results you can do something similar. You save your report first via GUI and then you again set up a *.py file and let Matlab do the saving.

Is it possible to get the python script for a model from an already saved cae file or inp file? As it would be tough task to create my model without erring once or twice.

I have written a script to run multiple jobs simultaneously. If ur problem is it, u can send me an email to send u.
Yes, you can code your command in Python or FORTRAN and then you control/switch command, or you can create a batch file with all the recursive commands and execute it. Good luck
