I am not good in bioinformatics. I have a gene set which has some 1000 genes which are highly correlating with aging. I want to select some highly significant genes from this geneset for further experiments. Can anybody suggest a good statistical test and programs that I can use?
On what parameter you want to make selection. There is nothing you mentioned which can be used as a parameter to start the sub-setting of the dataset.

If do you want the most correlated genes you can filter in a typical way using pv-alue and false-positive detection rate (FDR)< 0.05 and then you can predict the interaction with STRING. Regards.
@Myriam Solis thank you so much. Your suggestion cleared my doubts. Instead of STRING I used Enrichment map though.
..Yes, just i recommended string to verify some intercation between proteins... but previously absolutely you can do enrichment analysis and analysis with DGCA
