Ajit - if you are not interested in statistical analyses (regressions etc), a polynomial interpolation will do just fine. It is "an easy way out", but a simple one.

Note that there are infinitely many functions with this property. polynomial interpolation gives a polynomial solution (perhaps not the min. polynomial) and thus it is only a candidate. The function that gave rise to your data can not be known uniquely. Best, David booth
