My Pc is insoluble in many organic solvents (DCM,Chloroform,diethylether etc.). However it is in water phase which is also contain sodium sulfate. So, I wonder how can I get rid of both sodium sulfate and water , and extract my target in organic solvent ?
(My Pc contains aldehyde functional groups)
Maybe you can try to extract it with a mixture of Chloroform/isopropanol (7:3) several times, it can work with very polar molecules sometimes
Thanks a lot :) Do you think this mixture also can be beneficial for extracting the target from water ? I have doubts because isopropanol interfere with water.
That's the point, it will make your organic phase much more polar, which is a good point, and the isopropanol will make an homogeneous phase with the chloroform.
I've never experienced any probleme with this method, I used it usually to extract really polar compounds with lot of amino groups, which were stuck in the aqueous phase
