I have evaluated the steady state analysis of LiBr-Water absorption refrigeration cycle. But i got confused in evaluating the transient analysis for this system. If you have any valuable suggestion than please inform me.
I think you need to use the TRNSYS simulation program. TRNSYS is an acronym for a ‘transient simulation program’ and is a quasi-steady simulation model. This program was developed by the University of Wisconsin by the members of the Solar Energy Laboratory (Klein et al., 1998). It is written in ANSII standard Fortran-77.
I attached a paper, in which the authors used the TRANSYS simulation program in their analysis.
since the last release it is able to solve ordinary differential equations. So it can calculate time sequences and complex dynamic problems. Currently I have a district heating network with thermal storages, dynamic programmed builings and many controller (400 ODE's and 18000 eqations) and it works well.
In my opinion you have to use two program as together. I suggest Trnsys with EES or with Matlab. Using the trnsys type you will make a weak analysis. Upsetting is good for steady state studies.
In evey case , you can use quasi steady analysis and you have to select what you have to keep constant. May the cooling load.
TRNSYS is a comprehensive simulation program and you can use it for detailed Transient analysis of absorption cooling system. it has more than 1000 different components. The time step of any simulation can be in seconds or hours.
The model of the TRNSYS is not good. It is not the best model for simulating the dynamic behavior of the chiller. For example, if you do not be carefull, then the cooled water can reach to extremely low temperature levels under zero. This is explained by the energy balances which are made without the program to chack if the inlet temeprature levels are the proper in the chiller.
For the Ipsepro now, I think that it is better for stady state coandition analysis.
