Hello to every one,

I am currently working on a project called the BIZEOLCAT project funded by the EU commission under horizon 2020. I am asking this question because I don't have the technical capabilities to understand catalyst engineering.

So, our project partners are working on developing refining and petrochemical catalyst which going to be used in the PDH and BDH processes. The development of novel catalysts associated with reactor design (including H2 membrane) and chemical engineering will lead to high activity at lower temperatures (to reduce or slow the coke formation), high selectivity towards desired products, and high stability over the long term is, therefore, an important challenge for the actual catalyst industry.

My question is or the information I am looking for is

  • how do I can estimate the net consumption of catalysts in the PDH and BDH processes?
  • What are the main parameter should I take into account to calculate the SIZE of the catalyst?
  • Is possible to estimate the consumption of the catalyst on the size of the reactor, e.g. if the capacity of the PDH/BDH unit is 400 000 MT/Year, what will be the quantity of the catalyst will be placed on the bed at the starting of the operation?

Sorry, if I didn't structure the question. I will be looking forward to hearing from you people.
