Hi,

In a simple form, the Boussinesq hypothesis reads

R = -2 nu_t * S,

where R and S are tensors (well known).

The previous hypothesis works if the two tensors are aligned; basically if the cosine

( | R : S | ) / ( ||R|| ||S|| ) > 0.86 (approximation).

I would like to have some suggestions for cases of  non-aligned tensors. Any method to estimate nu_t?

I thank you in advance and I look for your reply.
