I am simulating a metamaterial unit cell using Transient solver in CST 2018. In x- direction I used Et=0, in y- direction I used Bt=0 and in z- direction I used open add space. while simulating the unit cell with these boundary conditions I got two error "illegal use of s matrix - impedance not found" and "solver terminated abnormally".
Your help would be highly appreciated.

You have defined perfect E in x-direction and perfect H in y -direction. But you have not defined excitation ports because in z-direction you have defined open space. You must use PBC, otherwise provide proper excitation to your structure.
